Abstract:
This article, in three sections, introduces the sermon that Anna Howard Shaw preached during the World’s Congress of Representative Women on May 21st, 1893. The first section draws on Shaw’s autobiographical reflections to describe the sermon, and gives information about the preacher and the context; the second section describes the ground-breaking, feminist sermon, and its significance; and the third section reproduces the complete sermon text.
