Abstract:

The focus of this special issue of the Journal of Interactional Research in Communication Disorders is Professional Identity in speech and language therapy: Contexts and constructions. As such, we are concerned with the professional dimension of identity and how it manifests in varying contexts of interaction and constructions of practice. The arguments presented in this special issue draw on data from contexts of interaction such as student-supervisor engagement and client-clinician dialogue. Constructions of practice are explored via report-writing and reflective talk and text.
