Chapter Five seeks to translate the results of the study into practice by synthesizing the different ways in which teachers deal with their own or their students’ boredom in the language classroom as well as the solutions that they have not yet tried out but consider to be useful. Integrated with the research-based perspectives discussed earlier in the book, this serves as a basis for proposing a tentative model of pedagogic interventions that can alleviate the occurrence of this negative emotion among students as well as strategies that practitioners can fall back upon to combat their own feelings of boredom.
