Bacewicz enters the Warsaw Conservatoire. She studies violin (with Józef Jarzębski), piano (with Józef Turczyński) and composition (again with Kazimierz Sikorski). The liveliness, momentum and originality of her compositional style are noted. She goes to Paris to study composition with Nadia Boulanger and advanced violin with André Touret, and later with Carl Flesch. Her Wind Quintet wins first prize in a competition in Paris.
