Bacewicz’s Overture has its premiere in Kraków in 1945. She spends three months in Paris in 1946, where she composes her String Quartet No. 3, and where her many concerts and recitals are given excellent reviews. Her career takes off exponentially. In 1948 her Olympic Cantata is commended in the International Olympic Art Competition in London, and she also composes her Concerto for String Orchestra and her Violin Concerto No. 3.
